According to international media outlets such as Bloomberg on June 4 (local time), a fire broke out on the Liberian-flagged cargo ship 'Morning Midas' in the North Pacific Ocean, approximately 482 kilometers southwest of Adak Island, Alaska, United States.

At the time of the fire, there were 22 crew members on board, all of whom were rescued by the US Coast Guard, who responded to the emergency call. No injuries or casualties have been reported.

Zodiac, the shipping company managing the vessel, stated that "smoke first appeared on the deck, and the crew attempted to extinguish the initial fire, but they were unable to bring the flames under control." According to Zodiac, the ship was carrying 3,000 vehicles, including 800 electric cars, and had departed from Yantai Port in China on May 26, heading for Lazaro Cardenas, Mexico.

The US Coast Guard dispatched aircraft and patrol boats to the site to assist with firefighting efforts. Through its official social media channels, the Coast Guard stated, "We are continuously monitoring the exact situation of the Morning Midas," and added, "We are coordinating vessel rescue operations in cooperation with the operator."

Meanwhile, in 2022, a similar incident occurred when a car carrier transporting vehicles caught fire and sank. At that time, the 'Felicity Ace,' carrying over 4,000 luxury vehicles including Porsche and Bentley models, caught fire near the Azores Islands in Portugal and sank after two weeks.
