Promoting a "Thank You Tour" for President Lee Jae Myung's Election Victory

The 21st presidential election has concluded, but the activities of Chung Cheongrae, a lawmaker from the Democratic Party of Korea, continue. Chung, who served as the head of the “Golmokgolmok Election Committee” for Gwangju and Jeonnam during the recent presidential campaign, is once again visiting Gwangju and Jeonnam to engage with local residents.
According to the Jeonnam Provincial Party of the Democratic Party and Chung Cheongrae’s office on June 5, Chung will begin his tour at 7 p.m. by visiting Bitgaram Lake Park in Naju Innovation City. Over the next three nights and four days, he will visit Nampyeong 5-Day Market in Naju, Gwangyang 5-Day Market, Yi Sun-sin Square in Yeosu on June 6, Arejang 5-Day Market in Suncheon, Saturday 5-Day Market in Jangheung, Boseong-eup 5-Day Market, Malbau Market in Gwangju on June 7, and on June 8, Goindol Traditional Market in Hwasun, Gurye 5-Day Market, Gokseong Train Village Traditional Market, and Songjeong 5-Day Market in Gwangju.
Although the specific locations have not been finalized, he also plans to visit Mokpo starting on the 20th, followed by sequential visits to Muan, Hampyeong, and other areas.
This schedule is known as a “Thank You Tour” to both congratulate President Lee Jae Myung on his election victory and to express gratitude to the local residents who showed strong support. In this presidential election, President Lee Jae Myung received 84.77% of the votes in Gwangju (second highest nationwide) and 85.87% in Jeonnam (highest nationwide).
Chung, whose wife’s family is from Jakcheon-myeon, Gangjin, Jeonnam, refers to himself as a son-in-law of Honam and spent the entire campaign traveling throughout the region to meet voters. It was also revealed that he volunteered to serve as the local head of the Golmokgolmok Election Committee, further raising his profile in the region.
Throughout the election period, Chung traveled more than 6,000 kilometers to communicate with local residents and solidified his position as a political star.
Meanwhile, ahead of the tour, Chung expressed his gratitude on his Facebook page on this day, saying, “Thank you for voting for Lee Jae Myung.”
