Yangju City to Host "2025 National Garden Design Contest"

Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on June 5 that it will hold the "2025 National Garden Design Contest" on September 19 at the local 'Nari Farm Lawn Plaza.' The event is designed to promote urban agriculture culture and create a healing space for citizens.

This contest aims to raise awareness of the healing effects and environmental value of urban gardens, as well as to spread the culture of enjoying gardens and nature in daily life.

Last September, Yangju City received a great response by showcasing various urban garden design works from daycare centers, urban agriculture communities, and citizens through the "Dreaming Urban Garden Design Contest."

This year, the contest will be expanded to a national scale to encourage even greater participation.

Any group of up to five people or individuals interested in urban agriculture can participate, and applications can be submitted via email (rose1478@korea.kr) from June 9 to June 27.

After the first round of document screening, 15 selected teams will participate in the competition held at the 'Nari Farm Lawn Plaza.' The selected works will be exhibited in connection with the Celosia Festival until September 28, providing citizens with a healing space in nature.

Choi Yoonjung, head of the Rural Resources Division, said, "We hope that creative ideas from those interested in urban agriculture will help urban gardens become a place of relaxation for citizens," adding, "We look forward to enthusiastic participation from people across the country."
