This ceremony was organized to mark the 30th anniversary of Environment Day, to recognize organizations and individuals who have contributed to environmental conservation activities, and to reaffirm the city's collective commitment to achieving carbon neutrality in Gwangju.

The first part of the event included commendations for distinguished contributors in the environmental field, a commemorative address, and congratulatory remarks from guests. In the second part, participants enthusiastically took part in a hands-on carbon neutrality experience program by making moss pot "terrariums."

Mayor SaeHwan Bang stated, "I would like to express my deep gratitude to the members of environmental organizations who have always taken the lead in environmental conservation and the practice of carbon neutrality. I will continue to do my best, together with our citizens, to build a sustainable, carbon-neutral city of Gwangju."
