The University Coexistence Project is an initiative led by North Jeolla Province to strengthen the competitiveness of universities in the province by identifying and supporting tasks based on local demand and university characteristics, thereby enhancing the overall capacity of all universities in the region and reinforcing their connection with the local community.

In this project, Jeonju University was selected for three province-linked tasks: nurturing practical talents in Jeonbuk-specialized industries, supporting open AI hands-on education based on Jeonbuk-style cloud systems, and operating Neulbom classrooms. In addition, six university specialization tasks, in which Jeonju University has demonstrated competitiveness, were also selected.

The achievements in this University Coexistence Project were largely made possible by Jeonju University's ongoing efforts to promote various collaborative activities, such as specialized education programs for employees and the general public based on cooperation between local governments and universities, youth entrepreneurship and local job creation, and initiatives to foster joint growth with the local community.

Through the RISE project, Jeonju University is rapidly advancing talent development, research and development, entrepreneurship and job creation, lifelong education, and community support, having secured a total of 60 billion KRW in project funding over five years?the largest amount among private universities in North Jeolla Province.

Furthermore, by leading both the RISE project and the newly selected University Coexistence Project, Jeonju University aims to spearhead the creation of a mutually beneficial ecosystem that drives regional innovation and development in partnership with the local community.

Han Donguk, head of the Jeonju University RISE Project Group, stated, "This achievement is the result of the collective efforts of all faculty and staff in university-industry cooperation, community engagement, and educational innovation. Moving forward, we will continue to design and realize the future together with the local community as a 'university that grows together.'"

Jeonju University plans to continue leading the way in sustainable regional industry growth, improving the settlement conditions for young people, and establishing an innovative regional development model by strengthening cooperation among local governments, industries, universities, and research institutes. By doing so, the university aims to fulfill its role as an innovative community that grows alongside North Jeolla Province, the central government, businesses, and the local community, ultimately establishing itself as a leading model for regional development innovation in Korea.
