'Future Value Sharing Plus+ Day' is a monthly event where the mayor, public officials, and citizens come together to share Uijeongbu City's key future vision and policy directions. It has established itself as a platform for communicating the philosophy and future strategies of the 8th popularly elected city administration with the citizens.

This event was held under the theme "From the Center of National Security to the Center of Advanced Industry! Uijeongbu Free Economic Zone," aiming to share the city's vision for being designated as a free economic zone and its strategies for fostering advanced industries, while encouraging citizen engagement and participation.

Lee Jaechul, head of the Corporate Economy Division, who presented at the event, emphasized, "Uijeongbu has long served as a forward base for national security and as a symbol of peace. Now, the city is facing a decisive opportunity to leap forward as a hub for advanced technology and industry."

He added, "Based on the Uijeongbu Free Economic Zone, we will realize job creation, attract companies, and expand the industrial ecosystem."

A free economic zone is a special economic area that offers various incentives, including tax benefits and regulatory easing, to attract foreign investment and advanced industries.

In April, Uijeongbu City was selected as a candidate site for additional designation as a Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone, drawing attention as a future growth hub for the northern part of the Seoul metropolitan area.

Mayor Donggeun Kim stated, "The process of transforming from a security city to an industrial city is not just about industrial policy, but about redrawing the entire future map of Uijeongbu City. Through the leap to becoming a city of advanced industries, we will simultaneously enhance the quality of life for citizens and invigorate the local economy."

Meanwhile, at the event, awards were presented to 24 citizens, including exemplary citizens and contributors to the stabilization of public sewage treatment facilities. Prior to the ceremony, Uijeongbu citizen and singer-influencer Hwang Inho energized the stage by performing two songs as a talent donation.
