Kiwoom Securities Awards 100 Million Won in Scholarships to 50 University Students

On the previous afternoon, a scholarship certificate ceremony for the first semester of 2025 was held at the Kiwoom Securities headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul. The event was attended by CEO Eom Joosung, Bae Byungil, Chairman of the Korea Student Aid Foundation, and the scholarship recipients.

The Korea Student Aid Foundation selected 50 university students from socially disadvantaged groups with outstanding academic performance and provided each with a living expense scholarship of 2 million won, funded by the 100 million won donation from Kiwoom Securities.

This is the second time the scholarship has been awarded, following last year. Fifty university students from socially disadvantaged backgrounds?including students with disabilities, North Korean defectors, self-reliant youth, single-parent families, student heads of household, and multicultural families?received living expense support, enabling them to focus on their studies.

Kiwoom Securities plans to provide another 100 million won in scholarships for socially disadvantaged university students in the second semester of this year.

The scholarship program for socially disadvantaged university students is part of the "Kiwoom and Sharing for Tomorrow" campaign, which Kiwoom Securities has been running since last year. The company is engaged in various social contribution activities with the aim of spreading a culture of sharing and addressing social issues.

Last year, the company donated 300 million won to cover the treatment costs for 30 patients undergoing parent-to-child liver transplants, and another 300 million won through the "Kiwoom and Brightness" project to support vision improvement for firefighters. More recently, it provided 200 million won to help young job seekers aspiring to become professional soldiers acquire military-related certifications.

This spring, Kiwoom Securities donated 300 million won to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association to support recovery efforts in areas affected by large-scale wildfires in Gangwon Province. In addition to the monetary donation, the company also supported firefighters and related personnel at the wildfire sites by providing snack trucks during the firefighting period.

CEO Eom Joosung stated, "Kiwoom Securities will continue to actively engage in a variety of social contribution activities aimed at solving social problems."
