Yangsan City in South Gyeongsang Province plans to actively introduce and integrate AI (artificial intelligence) technology into its administration and develop administrative innovation measures that can be applied across various sectors.

On June 4, Mayor Na Dongyeon praised the city's achievement of being selected as an excellent institution in the local government AI innovation evaluation during the administrators meeting. He emphasized, "The transition to an AI-based society is accelerating, and it is necessary to actively introduce and utilize AI in various administrative fields such as industry, disaster management, welfare, and information and communications."

He also called for measures to revitalize land sales at the Gasan General Industrial Complex and Deokgye Gyeongdong General Industrial Complex. Mayor Na stressed that attracting businesses and investments is the key to revitalizing the local economy and creating jobs. He stated, "Due to the economic downturn and high land prices, the sales rate of industrial land is low. Therefore, it is necessary to implement active investment attraction activities and measures to boost industrial complex land sales, such as easing industry-specific regulations and establishing tailored strategies for each sector."

Additionally, with summer approaching, he instructed a reexamination of the disaster prevention system focused on proactive measures against natural disasters and heat waves. Mayor Na emphasized, "I hope to see comprehensive disaster response systems in place, including pre-inspections of cooling shelters, maintenance of shade structures, operation of water-spraying vehicles, and swift control of vulnerable areas and facilities in the event of a disaster."

Finally, the Yangsan City Artificial Intelligence Research Club shared AI utilization strategies for administrative officials. The club contributes to enhancing the AI capabilities of Yangsan City officials and improving work efficiency by independently developing and sharing services that can be immediately applied to administrative tasks.

This presentation was organized to encourage administrators to actively adopt and utilize AI in order to lead smart administration, and it provided specific directions, including examples of how AI technology can be applied throughout administrative operations.
