In an official statement released on this day, MBN said, "At around 11:40 p.m. on June 3, during a live broadcast showing President-elect Lee Jae Myung and his spouse greeting citizens, a reporter from MBN's video news department accidentally pushed Kim Hye Kyung. MBN has conveyed its apology to the presidential office."

MBN added, "The presidential office said, 'We understand that it was a tense situation, but please be especially careful during future coverage.' MBN will strengthen safety training for close-up filming of key figures and will take this opportunity to revise its video coverage guidelines."

On June 3, as President Lee and his spouse came outside to greet citizens after it became clear that he would be elected, a video journalist was seen pushing Kim Hye Kyung, which sparked controversy. In the live broadcast footage, a reporter holding a camera was seen pushing Kim Hye Kyung's arm with his hand, and Kim Hye Kyung was struck on the head by a camera microphone.
