On June 5, Chungnam Credit Guarantee Foundation, together with the Chungnam Sejong Regional Headquarters of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, the Gongju branch, and the Sejong Gongju Horticultural Agricultural Cooperative, visited a garlic farm located in Dongdae-ri, Useongmyeon, Gongju City to provide assistance with farm labor.
This activity was part of a volunteer initiative in which local public institutions and financial organizations, which play an important role in revitalizing the local economy, joined forces to practice the value of coexistence with the local community.
On this day, about 60 employees and executives from the participating organizations, including Cho Sohang, chairman of Chungnam Credit Guarantee Foundation, took part in harvesting garlic during the busy farming season.
The garlic farmer who received the assistance expressed gratitude, saying, "It is even more difficult to find workers in Gongju than in other areas, so the volunteers' help was truly valuable."
Cho Sohang, chairman of Chungnam Credit Guarantee Foundation, stated, "Although it was a small gesture, I hope it was helpful to the farmers," and added, "We will continue to carry out warm social contribution activities together with the local community."
Meanwhile, starting with apple thinning earlier this year, Chungnam Credit Guarantee Foundation has continued to visit farms experiencing labor shortages during the busy farming season, such as for garlic harvesting, and has been steadily carrying out social contribution activities to improve working conditions and provide practical support in rural areas.
