Key Executives Participate in Group Meeting... Seeking Integration and Development
"Beyond Physical and Chemical Integration, Toward Becoming One Group"
On June 5, Hanjin Group announced that it held a meeting at the Korean Air Seosomun building in Jung-gu, Seoul, to share the ethics and compliance management activities of its group companies and to explore plans for integration and development.
The Ethics Management Committee of Hanjin KAL and the executives of major affiliates of Asiana Airlines are sharing the ethics and compliance management activities of each group company and exploring integration and development plans on the 5th at the Korean Air Seosomun building in Jung-gu, Seoul. The meeting was attended by Ryu Kyungpyo, Vice Chairman of Hanjin KAL, Woo Keehong, Vice Chairman of Korean Air, seven members of the Hanjin KAL Ethics Management Committee, and six executives from major affiliates including Asiana Airlines, Air Busan, Air Seoul, Asiana IDT, Asiana Airport, and Asiana Sabre.
The Hanjin KAL Ethics Management Committee is a decision-making body that reviews the establishment and revision of key policies and related regulations to strengthen ethical management within Hanjin Group. Since January 2021, the committee has been operating to discuss various measures to enhance integrity and ethical awareness within the organization. The committee is composed of five external members with expertise and experience in compliance and ethics management, and two internal members.
This was the second time, following November 2022, that the group’s top management directly participated in the meeting. The participants shared updates on the ethics management activities of newly incorporated affiliates and discussed ways to develop a unified “Hanjin Group Code of Ethics” by integrating the ethics codes of all group companies. They also pledged to make transparent management and responsible management, as stipulated in the code of ethics, the core corporate philosophy, and to firmly establish a culture of compliance and ethical management going forward.
In his remarks, Ryu Kyungpyo, Vice Chairman of Hanjin KAL, stated, “For true integration, all executives and employees must build trust based on mutual respect, starting with the management. I hope we can move beyond physical integration to achieve chemical integration, and ultimately grow together as a single group.”
Woo Keehong, Vice Chairman of Korean Air, said, “The Hanjin KAL Ethics Management Committee will pursue various measures to integrate and develop Hanjin Group’s ethics management system and culture during the integration process with Asiana Airlines. We will continue to make efforts to practice ethical management by promoting transparent, fair, and rational business operations.”
