Dongsil-myeon Regional Hub Development Project
to Receive 4.4 Billion Won Investment
Goheung County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Gong Youngmin) announced on June 5 that the Dongsil-myeon Regional Hub Development Project had been finally selected in the new competition for the '2026 General Agricultural and Fishing Village Development Project' hosted by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.
This project will be carried out with a total budget of 4.4 billion won, including both national and local government funds. It is particularly significant because residents of Dongsil-myeon directly identified projects needed in their locality, and these projects were selected based on their necessity and feasibility.
Through this project, the county aims to encourage visitors using National Road No. 15 to experience and tour the beauty of Dongsil-myeon, while also focusing on creating spaces where residents can communicate and interact with one another.
The main components of the Dongsil-myeon Regional Hub Development Project include the construction of the 'Dongsil Harmony Center,' which will serve as a community space for residents, and the installation of pedestrian walkways to provide a safe walking environment in the Baekyang-ri area.
Governor Gong Youngmin stated, "Through this project, we will actively support Dongsil-myeon so it can grow as a supporting city for the space industry launch vehicle cluster, and we will continue to engage in ongoing communication with residents."
Meanwhile, the county plans to officially begin the project after receiving approval for the basic plan from the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and will establish the implementation plan and detailed design in the second half of the year.
