Byungki Kim, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, officially announced his candidacy on June 5 for the second-term floor leader of the Democratic Party in the 22nd National Assembly.
On this day, Kim held a press conference at the National Assembly's Communication Center and stated, "I am confident that I am the lawmaker who understands President Jaemyung Lee and his governing philosophy most profoundly." He added, "At the beginning of the administration, when the hopes of the people are at their highest, I will establish the best possible relationship between the party and the government to contribute to the success of the Jaemyung Lee administration."
Kim pledged to: ▲restore the people's livelihoods and the economy ▲completely end internal strife ▲innovate the national system ▲create a melting-pot-like forum for party discussions ▲build a 'one team' to strongly implement decisions reached through debate ▲and provide opportunities for every lawmaker to fully exercise their expertise.
He also promised to foster a democratic culture of debate within the party, establish a one-team system, and guarantee that each lawmaker can demonstrate their professional capabilities.
Meanwhile, Kim, a three-term lawmaker and former member of the National Intelligence Service, is highlighting his relationship of trust and practical experience with President Jaemyung Lee as his strengths.
