Sahmyook University Holds Major Exploration Festival

Event for Incoming Students of the School of Interdisciplinary Studies

Sahmyook University announced on June 5 that it held the '2025 Major Exploration Festival' at Solomon Square on campus on May 27.

This event was organized to support students in the School of Interdisciplinary Studies in choosing their majors, and to provide opportunities for students interested in double majors, minors, interdisciplinary majors, and micro-majors to explore integrated academic paths.


The event featured participation from 19 departments, as well as administrative units such as the Academic Support Team, University Career Center, and the SW-Centered University Project Group. More than 1,000 students took part in the booths and activities.


At each booth, faculty members and current students introduced the characteristics of each major, career prospects, curriculum, and extracurricular programs, while also sharing practical experiences related to department life.


Additionally, interactive programs such as major-related quizzes, hands-on activities, and one-on-one counseling were offered to increase student engagement and interest.


Park Jaejun, a student from the School of Creative Convergence and Interdisciplinary Studies who participated in the event, said, "By directly hearing about and experiencing various majors, I was able to broaden my perspective on career paths. Not only did I gain more interest in majors I was already considering, but I also discovered new fields that interested me, which gave me an opportunity to think more concretely about my future plans."


Kim Yongseon, Dean of the School of Interdisciplinary Studies, stated, "Choosing a major is a crucial process that determines the direction of one's life. We will continue to expand major design programs so that students can explore and make decisions for themselves."
