10,000 Passport Cases Featuring 'Haha Hoho'
to Be Distributed on a First-Come, First-Served Basis
for Electronic Passport Protection
Starting this month, Songpa District in Seoul will provide a free passport case featuring the district's official character, 'Haha Hoho,' to residents receiving their first-ever passport. This initiative aims to protect the embedded chip in electronic passports from external impact and to add significance to the issuance of a first passport.
The 'Haha Hoho Passport Case' given by Songpa District to first-time passport applicants. Provided by Songpa District.
The passport case is made of translucent PVC material and includes pockets inside for storing items such as airline tickets or cards, enhancing its practicality. The design incorporates the 'Haha Hoho' character and the district's corporate identity (CI) to reflect Songpa District's identity and brand value. The recipients are residents who receive their first-ever passport in person at the Songpa District Passport Office. A total of 10,000 cases will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until December of this year.
Song Kangseok, Mayor of Songpa District, stated, "This is a small gift and a practical service from Songpa District to residents receiving their first passport," and added, "We will continue to expand service-oriented administration that provides tangible benefits to residents' daily lives."
