College Soccer Tournament Kicks Off in Hapcheon
17 Days from August 15 to 31
Hapcheon County in South Gyeongsang Province held a hosting agreement ceremony for the 20th 1st·2nd Grade College Soccer Federation Tournament at the Cheongwadae set of Hapcheon Image Theme Park.
The agreement ceremony, held on June 4, was attended by key officials including County Governor Kim Yooncheol, Korea University Football Federation President Park Handong, Director of Economy and Culture Park Minjwa, Head of Sports Support Division Cho Hongnam, Hapcheon County Sports Club President Moon Junguk, and Hapcheon County Football Association President Ahn Jinho.
The agreement outlines the timing of the 20th 1st·2nd Grade College Soccer Federation Tournament and the mutual cooperation between Hapcheon County and the Korea University Football Federation for the successful hosting of the event. The tournament will take place over 17 days, from August 15 to August 31, at the artificial turf fields of the Gunmin Sports Park in Hapcheon County.
Hapcheon County has previously focused on hosting high school soccer tournaments and women's soccer tournaments, but with the hosting of a college soccer tournament, it is now seen as reaching a new turning point to further establish itself as a soccer city.
Governor Kim Yooncheol stated, "With the hosting of this tournament, Hapcheon County will continue close cooperation with the Korea University Football Federation for the development of college soccer," and added, "We will do our utmost to provide administrative support to ensure that this tournament is safe and free of inconvenience for the teams."
