At the site, Chairman Lee reviewed the construction status of the railway project’s ventilation shafts and stations, and instructed the staff to further strengthen on-site safety management.
The Gwanggyo to Homaesil railway project is underway to establish a new 9.88-kilometer railway section extending the current Shinbundang Line from Gwanggyo Jungang Station to Geumgok-dong in Gwonseon-gu.
The Authority plans to enhance transportation convenience in the southwestern region of the Seoul metropolitan area by constructing an integrated station near Suwon World Cup Stadium, including the existing Hwaseo Station on the Gyeongbu Line, and enabling transfers to the Indeogwon to Dongtan line.
