The Gwangju Regional Veterans Affairs Office announced on June 4 that, in recognition of June as Patriotic Veterans Month, it will be holding a variety of events under the theme "Living Veterans Affairs in Everyday Life, Veterans Affairs for All" to reflect on the spirit of love for the nation.

To remember and honor the sacrifices of national merit recipients, a Memorial Day ceremony will be held in front of the Memorial Tower at Gwangju Park on June 6. On June 25, the 75th anniversary ceremony of the Korean War will take place at the Bitgoeul Citizens' Culture Center.

Additionally, to honor and express gratitude to national merit recipients, a certificate presentation ceremony will be held with the participation of local organization leaders, citizens, students, and others, in order to promote the honor of national merit recipients. There will also be an award ceremony for exemplary national merit recipients and Gwangil Veterans Award recipients, recognizing those who have contributed to the development of the local community.

The office will also conduct veterans culture events with the participation of future generations. The events include: the "Bobo K.I.D.S Nara Jikimi" Veterans Affairs class at Gwangju Jungang Elementary School on June 9; the large-scale on-site participation event "Bobo K.I.D.S Pangpang Land" with all students of Jeongam Elementary School on June 11; and the "Bobo K.I.D.S Camp" veterans field trip at Daechon Jungang Elementary School on June 13.

On June 14, the "Bobo K.I.D.S Picnic" event will be held at the outdoor plaza of the Gwangju Museum of History and Folklore, combining veterans affairs with the arts to provide a diverse experience of veterans affairs. This event will offer a space where children, students, and citizens of all ages can come together, empathize, and enjoy.

In addition, a variety of events are planned to integrate veterans culture into everyday life, including a ceremonial first pitch, first hit, and first pitch-off event for descendants of independence, patriotic, and democratic heroes in collaboration with the KIA Tigers professional baseball team, a Patriotic Veterans video contest, and a local patriotic heroes photo exhibition.

Kim Seokki, head of the Gwangju Regional Veterans Affairs Office, stated, "With respect and gratitude to the patriotic martyrs and fallen heroes who sacrificed for the nation, we will continue to share the value of veterans affairs and strive to ensure that living veterans affairs in everyday life and veterans affairs for all become a reality."
