Direct Market for Jeonnam Eco-friendly Agricultural Products to Be Held in Namak

Jeonnam Province announced that the 2025 Organic Day Eco-friendly Agricultural Products Direct Market will be held on June 7 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Namak Central Park in front of the Jeonnam Provincial Government Office.

Eco-friendly agricultural organizations have designated June 2 of each year as 'Organic Day' and hold commemorative events. Now in its third year, this event will be held under the slogan "A Pure Choice for the Earth, 2025 Organic Day," aiming to share the value of eco-friendly agriculture for future generations and to serve as a festival where producers and consumers come together.

At the event venue, a direct market for eco-friendly agricultural products will be held with 47 booths, where visitors can purchase organic agricultural products and processed foods at reasonable prices. There will also be experience and educational activities, such as organic rice cake making, food tasting, and promotional and consultation booths.

In particular, to encourage greater participation from future generations, the event will feature the "Organic Golden Bell Quiz Competition" (50 teams from elementary, middle, and high schools), the "Youth Dance Contest" (10 teams in the finals), and, for the first time, an awards ceremony for the "Organic Food Essay Contest." These programs are expected to draw enthusiastic participation from family visitors.

The event is supported by Jeonnam Province, the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education, and Muan County. A total of 17 organizations, including eco-friendly agricultural associations from 21 cities and counties in Jeonnam, as well as cooperatives and consumer groups, will participate to help promote the value of eco-friendly practices.

Kim Youngseok, Director of the Eco-friendly Agriculture Division of Jeonnam Province, said, "Organic Day is a meaningful event that widely promotes the value of sustainable agriculture and Jeonnam's eco-friendly agricultural products," and added, "We hope for active interest and participation from residents in this event where producers and consumers come together."
