Rising Demand for Advanced Technologies Such as AI in the Philippines
"Providing World-Class Innovative Infrastructure"
Data center operator Equinix announced on June 4 that it has acquired three data centers located in Manila, Philippines from Total Information Management (TIM).
In the Philippines, the increasing number of digital users and the spread of cloud adoption, as well as the government's promotion of policies such as the National Broadband Plan and the Digital Philippines campaign, are driving growing demand for national high-performance digital infrastructure and advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI).
Through its entry into the Philippines, Equinix plans to actively support national-level AI innovation and meet the demand for digital infrastructure, leveraging strategic partnerships with leading AI industry companies such as Nvidia.
The Philippine data centers are expected to provide global customers and partners with opportunities to build digital infrastructure in dynamic markets and broader regions through a data center network spanning Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and other locations.
Cyrus Adhgar, President of Equinix Asia-Pacific, stated, "By expanding our presence in Southeast Asia, we are supporting cutting-edge AI services and technological innovation in alignment with government digital goals," adding, "This acquisition demonstrates Equinix's commitment to providing world-class innovative infrastructure in the Philippines."
