On June 4, Seogu District announced that Dr. Seungcheol Lee, director of Seungcheol Lee Dermatology Clinic, joined as the 81st member of the Seogu Honors Club. On this day, Dr. Lee held an induction ceremony in the office of the Seogu District Mayor, attended by Mayor Kim Ikang and representatives from the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea.

Dr. Lee, a specialist in various skin diseases including skin cancer and vitiligo, is actively engaged in diverse volunteer and philanthropic activities. These include one-on-one designated sponsorships promoted by Seogu District, participation in the Seochang-dong Community Security Council, and support for the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation.

Dr. Lee stated, "I was deeply moved by the sharing activities practiced by Seogu Honors Club throughout the community, and I wanted to join them, which is why I became a member."

The Seogu Honors Club was launched in November last year with the goal of addressing welfare blind spots and establishing a sustainable public-private cooperation system. Membership is granted to individuals or corporate and organization representatives who make a one-time donation of at least 30 million won or pledge to donate the same amount over five years in installments.

Together with the Seogu Honors Club, Seogu District is promoting various themed projects to fill welfare blind spots. These include support for multicultural families visiting their maternal relatives, scholarships for young adults preparing for independence and for family caregivers, joint weddings for couples with disabilities, and tandem bike support for the visually impaired, all of which are receiving strong positive feedback for their user-centered, customized welfare approach.

Last month, Seogu District also shared warmth by directly visiting low-income families living with children and delivering sponsored goods through the "Owol-ae Chajaon Surprise Santa" event.

Mayor Kim Ikang stated, "The Seogu Honors Club is a strong partner in building a happy community through its positive influence. Going forward, we will continue to work with these good-hearted heroes to fill welfare blind spots through sharing, striving to achieve 'zero welfare gaps and a happy Seogu all 12 months of the year' where no one is left behind."

Meanwhile, the total amount of pledged donations by Seogu Honors Club members through the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea has reached 2.87 billion won.
