The Uiwang Ttokbus will begin operations for the first time in the Chopyeong-dong area, connecting Wangsong Lake Park and Uiwang Station. By establishing a transportation network between major hubs, it is expected to make it much easier not only for local residents but also for outside tourists to visit Wangsong Lake Park via Uiwang Station.
The Uiwang Ttokbus will operate with two 8-seater minivans. Operating hours are from 6:00 a.m. to midnight, with ride requests accepted until 11:30 p.m. Fares, based on transportation card use, are the same as standard city bus fares: 1,450 won for adults, 1,010 won for teenagers, and 730 won for children. The metropolitan area integrated transfer discount is also applied.
Yoon Taewan, Director of the Gyeonggi-do Metropolitan Transportation Policy Division, stated, "The Ttokbus, being introduced for the first time in Uiwang City, will become a practical means of transportation for residents in areas with inconvenient public transit," and added, "Gyeonggi Province will do its best to promote and improve the efficiency of the Ttokbus."
Min Kyungseon, President of Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation, said, "With the introduction of the Uiwang Ttokbus, a convenient transportation network connecting residential areas and nearby subway stations will be established, which is expected to significantly reduce residents' travel times." He added, "We will continue our efforts to ensure that many residents can use convenient and safe transportation services."
Meanwhile, Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation has been operating a total of 233 Ttokbus vehicles in 17 cities and counties within Gyeonggi Province, including the Uiwang Ttokbus, since the pilot project in Paju in 2022.
