Youngha Yoo to Junpyo Hong: "Stop Meddling in Our Party and Focus on Golf"

Criticism of Former Mayor Hong on Social Media
"Not a Member of People Power Party... No Room to Interfere"

Youngha Yoo, a member of the People Power Party, sharply criticized former Daegu Mayor Junpyo Hong, telling him, "Stop commenting on someone else's party," and adding, "I wish you would stop paying attention and just focus on playing golf in Hawaii, which you enjoy."

On June 4, Yoo wrote on his Facebook account, "Former Mayor Hong is not even a party member, and there will be no opportunity for him to get involved with our party in the future," expressing his stance.

He went on to tell former Mayor Hong not to even think about setting foot in Daegu, not even in his dreams, and said, "Just live as an ordinary citizen in Seoul, as you yourself said." Yoo added, "Because you are not here, our party has no diseased trees, and even if there are any, we will take care of them ourselves, so don't worry unnecessarily. Stop hovering around. It's truly disgraceful."

This appears to be a response to a post by former Mayor Hong on Facebook the same day, in which he wrote, "The reason I left the party I served for 30 years is that I saw no hope for the presidential election no matter how hard I tried, and I saw that party as a diseased forest."

Former Mayor Hong criticized, "You (the People Power Party) have turned into a self-serving interest group full of greed, which is why the public has turned their backs on you." He continued, "Was it not you who drove out Junseok Lee by falsely accusing him with all kinds of scandals? Was it not you who pushed me out through two fraudulent primaries?" He added, "That interest group, which refuses to communicate with the world and relies only on the elderly and so-called 'Teulddak' YouTube channels, has no future." In response to People Power Party supporters who posted on his Facebook telling him "Do not come back to Korea," he retorted, "Is Korea your country?"
