Korea Investment & Securities announced on June 4 that it has expanded the fractional investment feature for U.S. stocks on its mobile trading system (MTS) application, 'Korea Investment'.
Korea Investment & Securities has previously offered a fractional trading service for U.S. stocks through its separate app, 'Ministock'. With this update, not only existing Ministock users but also users of the MTS 'Korea Investment' app can now access the same fractional investment feature. The fractional investment function on the existing 'Ministock' app will continue to be available without change.
The company's fractional investment service allows users to invest in expensive foreign stocks in increments of 1,000 KRW, rather than by the whole share. This reduces the financial burden and makes it easier to diversify investments across various stocks. In particular, it is gaining popularity as a means of increasing accessibility for beginner investors and younger generations.
Park Jaehyun, Head of the Retail Customer Group at Korea Investment & Securities, stated, "With this expansion of our MTS service, accessibility and convenience for overseas stock investors will be greatly improved," adding, "We plan to continue expanding a variety of investor-centric services in the future."
Meanwhile, Korea Investment & Securities is also expanding its content offerings to support customers investing in U.S. stocks. In partnership with global financial firm Goldman Sachs, the company provides exclusive, real-time access to local reports for domestic investors. Since its launch on May 7, the Goldman Sachs reports surpassed 100,000 views in just 10 trading days.
