Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province will host a national student startup invention competition.
On June 4, Suwon City announced that it would be recruiting participants for the "18th National Student Startup Invention Competition" from June 9 to June 27.
The National Student Startup Invention Competition is an event designed to discover and nurture young talents with creativity and an inventive spirit. The event is co-hosted by Suwon City and Samil Technical High School, and organized by Suwon Urban Foundation and Samil Technical High School.
Elementary, middle, and high school students from across the country can participate either as a team (1 to 4 members) or individually.
The competition aims to "strengthen innovation capabilities and develop creativity among future generations," and is divided into four categories: Science (Life Science, Resource Recycling), Environment (Daily Life, Resource Recycling), Education (Science Education, Learning Materials), and Startup (Startup Content). A wide range of ideas and works will be accepted in each category.
Awards will be presented by the Minister of Education, the Minister of SMEs and Startups, the Minister of Environment, and the Mayor of Suwon Special City. Some outstanding entries will also be eligible for patent application support and prototype production assistance.
Applications can be submitted through the National Startup and Invention Competition website (https://s-talk.or.kr).
A Suwon City official stated, "As the creativity of future generations is the nation's competitiveness, we expect that the 18th National Student Startup Invention Competition will serve as a platform to discover talents equipped with creative invention ideas and startup capabilities to solve everyday problems."
