Gyeonggi Province to Provide Up to 10 Million Won in Design Development Funding for Beauty SMEs

The Gyeonggi Provincial Government will provide up to 10 million won in design development funding to 20 small and medium-sized beauty companies in the province.

On June 4, the Gyeonggi Provincial Government announced that, in cooperation with the Gyeonggi Small and Medium Venture Business Association, it will support design development for 20 small and medium-sized beauty companies in the province through the "2025 Beauty Industry Promotion Support Project."

The selected companies will receive up to 10 million won in direct design development expenses, depending on their evaluation grade in the selection process. In addition, the government will provide demand-tailored consulting to companies participating in the design development project to help resolve challenges faced by beauty SMEs. Notably, this year, to help supported companies establish a foothold in the global market, the government will select 10 outstanding companies among the design development project participants and provide additional support for global social networking service (SNS) marketing and beauty creator promotions.

The main projects of the 20 companies ultimately selected include: ▲ development of a new pedicure serum product that emphasizes "health and functionality" rather than focusing solely on "beauty and emotion"; ▲ development of "future-oriented and innovative" skincare packaging to strengthen competitiveness in the global market; and ▲ development of trendy lip and cheek containers that incorporate the beauty of Hanbok curves using "sustainable materials."

Um Kiman, Director of the Bio Industry Division at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government, said, "We hope that this design development support will serve as an opportunity for small and medium-sized beauty companies in the province to develop differentiated products, build brand images, secure market competitiveness, and expand into overseas markets."
