All Three Major Broadcasters Declare Lee Jae Myung's Win Certain
Lee Jae Myung 48.5% vs Kim Moon Soo 42.9%
Lee Jae Myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, has secured a decisive lead over Kim Moon Soo, the People Power Party candidate, by a margin of 5.53 percentage points, making his election all but certain. With 73.09% of the votes counted, Lee Jae Myung continues to maintain an overwhelming advantage.
According to the vote count results announced by the National Election Commission at 1:00 a.m. on June 4, Lee Jae Myung had received 12,397,644 votes (48.47%), while Kim Moon Soo had garnered 10,984,025 votes (42.94%). Lee Jun Seok, the Reform New Party candidate, followed with 1,928,568 votes (7.54%), Kwon Young Guk of the Democratic Labor Party received 241,715 votes (0.94%), and independent candidate Song Jin Ho obtained 25,772 votes (0.10%).
By region, Lee Jae Myung showed dominance across all areas in the Seoul metropolitan region. In Gyeonggi Province, Lee Jae Myung led with 50.12%, ahead of Kim Moon Soo (40.61%) by 9.51 percentage points. In Seoul, Lee Jae Myung had 47.29%, leading Kim Moon Soo (42.26%) by 5.03 percentage points. In Incheon, Lee Jae Myung also led with 50.91%, ahead of Kim Moon Soo (40.05%) by 10.86 percentage points.

In the Chungcheong region, Lee Jae Myung also maintained an advantage in all areas. In South Chungcheong, Lee Jae Myung received 46.98%, leading Kim Moon Soo (44.79%) by 2.19 percentage points, while in North Chungcheong, Lee Jae Myung had 46.67%, ahead of Kim Moon Soo (44.87%) by 1.80 percentage points. In Daejeon, Lee Jae Myung led with 48.57%, surpassing Kim Moon Soo (41.42%) by 7.15 percentage points.
In the Honam region, Lee Jae Myung received overwhelming support, recording high approval ratings of 83.37% in North Jeolla, 85.95% in South Jeolla, and 84.95% in Gwangju. In contrast, Kim Moon Soo held a strong lead in the Yeongnam region, securing 67.68% in North Gyeongsang, 71.41% in Daegu, and 53.71% in Busan, thus dominating the entire Yeongnam region.
In the 21st presidential election held on June 3, Lee Jae Myung of the Democratic Party is virtually assured of victory. As of 11:40 p.m., all three major terrestrial broadcasters reported Lee Jae Myung as the "certain winner." Amid the unprecedented 12·3 martial law situation and the aftermath of former President Yoon Suk Yeol's impeachment, the nation, in only its second-ever early presidential election, has chosen a change in government after three years.
With all three major broadcasters declaring his victory certain, Lee Jae Myung left his residence and stated, "I pay my respects to the great decision of our people." He added, "I will do my utmost to fulfill the great responsibility and mission entrusted to me, so as not to betray the expectations of our people." Currently at party headquarters, Lee is expected to deliver his acceptance speech in front of his supporters.
