Lee Jaemyung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, said on June 3, "I pay my respects to the great decision made by our people."
As all three major terrestrial broadcasters declared his victory as certain, Lee spoke to reporters and citizens while leaving his home, stating, "It is still too early to say anything definitive since the vote counting is ongoing, but if the results are confirmed as they are now," setting this as a precondition for his remarks.
He continued, "I will do my utmost to fulfill the great responsibility and mission entrusted to me, so as not to disappoint the expectations of our people."
Afterward, Lee got into a car and headed to the Democratic Party headquarters.
Meanwhile, all three major terrestrial broadcasters reported, based on their own prediction systems, that Lee's victory in the 6·3 presidential election was 'certain.'
