Voter Turnout: Highest in Jeonnam at 79.3%
Lowest in Jeju at 68.1%
As of 4:00 p.m. on June 3, the official voting day for the 21st presidential election, the nationwide voter turnout stood at a provisional 71.5%. This figure is 0.4 percentage points higher than the national turnout at the same time during the 20th presidential election held in 2022.
According to the National Election Commission, as of 4:00 p.m. on this day, the turnout was 71.5%, with 31,734,725 out of a total of 44,391,871 eligible voters casting their ballots. This is 0.4 percentage points higher than the turnout at the same time during the 2022 presidential election, and 9.7 percentage points higher than the turnout during the 22nd general election last year (61.8%).
This figure includes all ballots cast during early voting, which was held from May 29 to 30.
As of 4:00 p.m., the region with the highest turnout was Jeonnam (79.3%), while Jeju recorded the lowest turnout (68.1%). By region, Seoul recorded 71.5%, Gyeonggi 71.4%, Incheon 69.8%, Gangwon 71.5%, Daejeon 71.0%, Chungnam 68.7%, Chungbuk 69.7%, Sejong 75.4%, Jeonbuk 77.5%, Gwangju 78.3%, Daegu 70.4%, Gyeongbuk 71.1%, Gyeongnam 70.1%, Ulsan 70.9%, and Busan 69.0%.
The main voting on this day is being held from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for voters aged 18 and older. Ballot counting will begin after voting ends at 8:00 p.m. at 254 counting stations nationwide.
