Ulju County Makes All-Out Effort to Expand Erosion Control Facilities for Summer Natural Disasters Ulju County is making every effort to expand erosion control facilities in preparation for natural disasters during the summer season.

Since January this year, Ulju County has been carrying out new construction and maintenance projects for erosion control facilities at more than 90 sites, including Eunhyeon-ri in Ungchon-myeon.

The county has completed stream conservation projects, mountain erosion control projects (2 hectares), and maintenance projects (dredging, safety measures, and visual inspections). In addition, one new erosion control dam has been constructed and nine more are currently being installed.

In March, emergency restoration work such as stacking vegetation mats and maintaining waterways was carried out at two sites damaged by large-scale wildfires in Unhwa-ri, Onyang-eup, and Songdae-ri, Eonyang-eup, Ulju County, to prevent secondary damage. Furthermore, one site in Jikdong-ri, Eonyang-eup, is scheduled to complete emergency restoration work within this month.

An official from Ulju County stated, "We will complete the projects as soon as possible so that residents affected by wildfires do not suffer additional disaster damage during the summer," and added, "We will continue to expand erosion control facilities to ensure the safety of our residents."
