Presidential Election Turnout at 11 a.m. Reaches 18.3%... Daegu and Gyeongbuk Exceed 20%

Voter Turnout High in Daegu and Gyeongbuk,
Low in Gwangju and Jeonnam

As of 11:00 a.m. on June 3, the voter turnout for the 21st presidential election was provisionally tallied at 18.3%.

According to the website of the National Election Commission, as of 11:00 a.m. on this day, 8,103,435 out of a total of 44,391,871 eligible voters had cast their ballots.


This turnout is 2.3 percentage points higher than the 16.0% recorded at the same time during the 20th presidential election in 2022, but 1.1 percentage points lower than the 19.4% turnout during the 19th presidential election in 2017.


By region, Daegu had the highest turnout at 23.1%, while Jeonnam recorded the lowest at 12.5%.


During the early voting held on May 29 and 30, Daegu had the lowest early voting rate among metropolitan municipalities at 25.63%, but in the main election today, it has continued to show a high turnout from the beginning.


In contrast, Gwangju (13%), Jeonnam, and Jeonbuk (13.2%), which recorded high early voting rates, are currently showing the lowest turnout nationwide.


Turnout rates in other regions are as follows: Seoul 17.1%, Busan 17.7%, Incheon 18.1%, Daejeon 19.4%, Gyeonggi-do 19.0%, Sejong 16.8%, Ulsan 18.4%, Gyeongbuk 21.4%, Gyeongnam 19.4%, Gangwon 19.0%, and Jeju 17.2%.


Turnout rates for early voting, overseas voting, shipboard voting, and absentee voting will be included in the overall turnout figures starting from the 1:00 p.m. announcement.


The voter turnout published on the National Election Commission's website at the top of each hour is based on data compiled nationwide 10 minutes prior to the announcement.
