Jung Chulwon, the mayor of Damyang County in South Jeolla Province, received a plaque of appreciation from the National Federation of City, County, and District Public Officials Labor Unions (Chairman Gong Juseok, hereinafter referred to as the Federation) on June 2.

Mayor Jung has actively worked to improve the rights and welfare of employees through open communication with the Damyang County Public Officials Labor Union (Chairman Kim Gilyeop). He has guaranteed legitimate union activities and has led efforts to improve the working environment, including regular communication and ensuring voluntary participation during the Bamboo Festival period.

He was also highly praised for implementing special leave for employees exhausted from working during the Bamboo Festival and elections, as well as for making practical contributions to organizational culture, such as personally driving to and from work and simplifying official protocols.
