Famous Hollywood actress Sydney Sweeney (27) is releasing a limited-edition soap that actually contains her bathwater.

According to the New York Times (NYT) and other sources on May 30, Sweeney recently announced via Instagram the launch of a soap product that contains her real bathwater. This product, called "Sydney's Bathwater Bliss," was created in collaboration with the men's body care brand Dr. Squatch. Only 5,000 units will be released on June 6, and it will be available for purchase by those aged 18 and over. The price is $8 (approximately 11,200 KRW) per bar.

On Instagram, Sweeney explained, "After the body care product advertisement, I kept receiving questions about my bathwater that was used in the ad photos. So I saved it," adding, "This is a very real limited-edition soap made with my actual bathwater." Previously, in October last year, Sweeney appeared in a Dr. Squatch commercial sitting in a bathtub and saying, "This isn't for men, it's for real men," a scene that later went viral.

She said that fans' requests for her bathwater felt "weird, but in a good way." The soap contains sand, pine bark extract, and a small amount of Sweeney's real bathwater. It also features scents such as Douglas fir and moss, reminiscent of Sweeney's hometown nature in Washington State, USA. Dr. Squatch, the company that made the soap, stated, "We grow through ideas that make people laugh," and added, "We want to channel our customers' interest in a positive direction."

Online users showed mixed reactions to the news of this product's release. The NYT reported, "Some people responded that it was vulgar, while others congratulated the launch. A few simply asked 'Why?' expressing their curiosity about the reason."

Mira Gregerson (28) told the NYT, "Sweeney, as a celebrity, has been sexualized and, in some ways, has become a sexy icon. It's only natural that she wants to make money from this," adding, "I don't think it's much different from promoting a movie by using her appearance as a selling point." Chad Grauk (39) said, "There's nothing wrong with the product itself, but I wonder who would buy something like this." However, Sweeney explained, "This product is a fun campaign to encourage men to switch to natural body care products."

Sydney Sweeney gained fame for her roles as Eden in the 2018 series "The Handmaid's Tale" and as Cassie in HBO's teen drama "Euphoria." She is also set to star in the upcoming thriller film "Eden," scheduled for release in August.
