Leading the Way in Bridging the University Admissions Information Gap
Daegu Catholic University has been selected for the "2025-2026 University Support Project for Contribution to High School Education," organized by the Ministry of Education. Over the next two years, the university will actively implement a variety of high school-linked programs aimed at strengthening the fairness and transparency of university admissions processes.
This project is a government-funded initiative designed to enhance the quality of high school education and reduce the admissions burden on applicants. A total of 105 universities nationwide applied, and 92 universities were selected for the basic project.
Daegu Catholic University was also named in the "Expansion of University Admissions Information" category of the "Open Competition Project," for which only 16 additional universities were selected.
The selected universities will receive an average of approximately 580 million KRW each as basic project funding, and those chosen for the open competition project will receive an additional average of about 250 million KRW in project funds.
Through this project, the university plans to address the issue of information asymmetry regarding university admissions and focus on establishing a system that provides individualized admissions strategies for students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have limited access to admissions information.
Choi Dongho, Vice President for Admissions, stated, "Through our selection for this project, our university will strengthen high school-university partnerships and contribute to narrowing the gap in access to admissions information by developing a leading model in the area of expanded admissions information provision."
