To Be Held from June 9 to 12
Attended by Over 300 Participants Including Jeon Geunsik, Chairman of the Korea Cement Association
Experts working in the global cement industry will come together to discuss carbon neutrality measures aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, a common challenge facing the sector.
The Korea Cement Association, whose members include major domestic cement companies, announced on June 2 that "2025 Cemtech Asia," hosted by Cemnet, a UK-based global cement industry organization, and sponsored by the Korea Cement Association, will be held from June 9 to 12 at the Conrad Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul.
Approximately 300 cement industry professionals from around the world, including key industry leaders such as Jeon Geunsik, Chairman of the Korea Cement Association, will participate in the 2025 Cemtech Asia event. Representatives from the government and the National Assembly are also scheduled to deliver congratulatory remarks wishing for the event's success.
Cemtech, held three times annually in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, is recognized as the most authoritative and credible international event for technical exchange in cement manufacturing processes, quality, and environmental issues. Cemnet has highly evaluated the advanced technological capabilities, quality standards, and efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions of the Korean cement industry, and has been seeking to hold "Cemtech" in Korea, which had previously only been held in Southeast Asia.
This year's 2025 Cemtech Asia will feature presentations focused on achieving carbon neutrality and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the future cement industry. The event will begin with a keynote speech by Kim Euicheol, Director of Technology Development at the Korea Cement Association, titled "The Korean Cement Industry and Carbon Neutrality," followed by an explanation from Jean Michel, Executive Director of Sampyo Group, on the progress of low-carbon initiatives in the Korean cement industry.
In addition, the event will introduce the carbon neutrality roadmaps of emerging market cement industries such as China and India, hydrogen-based technologies for improved combustion efficiency, case studies on the use of AI in processes, changes in CCUS technology, and environmental facility technologies optimized for greenhouse gas reduction.
As a special program of this event, Thomas, Chairman of Cemnet, Jean Michel, Executive Director of Sampyo Group, and Peter Hoddinott, former President of the European Cement Association, have been invited. Domestic cement industry experts such as attorney Kim Jinhyo, Professor Kim Jinman of Kongju National University, and Professor Park Junghoon of Chonnam National University will also participate in a forum to discuss the future growth of the Korean cement industry.
A representative from the Korea Cement Association stated, "The hosting of 2025 Cemtech Asia will reaffirm that the cement industry's efforts to preserve the global environment are being realized through carbon neutrality and will pave the way for sustainable development in the future. In particular, it will be a valuable opportunity to showcase the domestic industry's greenhouse gas reduction efforts and technological advancements through exchanges with international experts."
