On June 2, Kia announced that it sold 269,148 vehicles in the global market in May 2025, marking a 1.7% increase compared to the same period last year.
Of this total, overseas sales rose by 2.6% year-on-year to 223,817 units, while domestic sales decreased by 2.4% to 45,003 units.
By model, the Sportage was the best-selling vehicle in the global market with 48,091 units sold, followed by the Seltos with 26,017 units and the Sorento with 21,889 units.
In the domestic market, the mid-size SUV Sorento was the top seller with 7,734 units sold.
For passenger cars, a total of 12,664 units were sold, including 4,000 units of the Ray, 3,028 units of the K5, and 2,627 units of the K8. In the recreational vehicle (RV) segment, a total of 29,596 units were sold, including 7,734 units of the Sorento, 6,651 units of the Carnival, 5,295 units of the Sportage, 4,257 units of the Seltos, 1,866 units of the EV3, and 1,348 units of the Tasman.
Kia's overseas sales in May 2025 reached 223,817 units, a 2.6% increase compared to the same month last year.
By model in overseas markets, the Sportage became the top-selling model with 42,796 units sold, followed by the Seltos with 21,760 units and the K3 (including K4) with 17,641 units.
A Kia representative stated, "Thanks to strong global sales of eco-friendly vehicles and the successful launches of the EV4 and Tasman, we have maintained year-on-year sales growth for four consecutive months." The representative added, "We will continue this growth by ramping up exports of the EV4 and Tasman and expanding our eco-friendly vehicle lineup with models such as the PV5 and EV5."
