The College of Engineering at Pusan National University (Dean Jung Jucheol) will hold a "Signature Seminar" on June 4 at 2:30 p.m. in the main auditorium of the Mechanical Engineering Building, inviting Dr. Christopher Liu (Ce Liu), AI Research Director at Meta Platforms Inc., as a guest speaker.
This seminar is part of Pusan National University's ongoing "Internationalization Vision Proclamation Ceremony" and "International Academic Forum." It has been organized as an academic exchange program to foster educational innovation based on AI (Artificial Intelligence) and XR (Extended Reality), as well as to build a global research collaboration network.
Dr. Christopher Liu is a world-renowned authority in the fields of visual artificial intelligence and multimodal generative technologies. He is currently leading the development of next-generation AI models at Meta.
Drawing on his research experience at Google and Microsoft, he has driven technological advancements in the high-resolution video generation model "Movie Gen" and the multimodal large language model "Llama 4."
The seminar is titled "Bringing AGI to the Visual World: Advances in Multimodal Understanding and Generation," and will cover the latest technology trends such as image-based question answering, document and chart interpretation, and text-to-video transformation.
Jung Jucheol, Dean of the College of Engineering at Pusan National University, stated, "Exchanges with scholars who are leading global AI technology will provide invaluable inspiration to our students and researchers," adding, "This will be an important milestone for Pusan National University as it advances toward becoming a College of Engineering with global research competitiveness."
