On June 3, the day of the 21st presidential election, Gwangju and South Jeolla Province are expected to greet the morning of election day under cloudy skies. After rain showers in the early morning, the sky will become partly cloudy from the afternoon.

According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration, the region will come under the influence of the edge of a high-pressure system moving eastward from central China, resulting in mostly cloudy conditions that will gradually clear in the afternoon. The expected rainfall for Gwangju and South Jeolla is between 5 and 20 millimeters, with up to 30 millimeters possible along the southern coast of South Jeolla. Most of the rain is expected to stop by dawn.

Waves in the seas off the west and south coasts will reach up to 1.5 meters, and ultrafine dust concentrations will remain at 'normal' levels.

An official from the Korea Meteorological Administration advised, "In areas where it is raining, visibility will be reduced and some roads may be slippery," and urged drivers to "secure a safe distance and reduce speed for traffic safety."
