Donga Passenger in Jinhae Serves as Citizens' Transportation Amid Changwon City Bus Strike

As negotiations between labor and management over wages at Changwon city buses in Gyeongnam continue to make little progress, Donga Passenger in Jinhae has continued its operations regardless of the quasi-public system, receiving praise from citizens as a warm-hearted transportation provider.

Kim, a resident of Jinhae, said that since May 28, when the Changwon city bus union went on strike, citizens have been experiencing ongoing inconveniences throughout the city. In particular, the confusion among those who rely on public transportation has reached an indescribable level. However, Kim expressed gratitude for Donga Passenger, the bus company that continues to serve as the citizens' means of transportation even in such difficult circumstances.

Donga Passenger, based in the Jinhae area, has not participated in the current strike and continues to operate Route 305 as usual. These two routes connect the western and eastern parts of Jinhae (Sokcheon to Yongwon), traversing the entire region, and play a vital role not only for commuters but also for students and the elderly.

Kim said, "I also live in Seokdong and use the bus more than five times a week to visit my family home in Yongwon. I realized even more strongly this time how fortunate and grateful I am to be able to use the Donga Passenger bus when other routes have stopped. Last Wednesday morning, as I anxiously waited at the stop, not knowing if the bus would come, I silently applauded when I saw the Route 305 bus arrive on time as usual."

Kim continued, "Even in the special situation of a strike, it is by no means a given to remain by the citizens' side with such responsibility until the end. It could have been even more difficult and burdensome. However, Donga Passenger has quietly continued its operations, safeguarding the daily lives of citizens. I believe this attitude goes beyond merely running buses; it is an expression of trust and a sense of duty toward the local community."
