Bootcamp to be held at Kunsan National University from August 6 to 9
Namwon City in North Jeolla Province is accepting applications for participants in the "Digital Leaders Club Bootcamp" until June 20. The bootcamp is open to students who have completed (or are expected to complete) the SW Miraechaeum long-term education program.
According to the city on June 2, the "Digital Leaders Club" is a Namwon City regional specialization program that provides elite education in the SW/IT field for elementary, middle, and high school students who have an aptitude and interest in SW development.
The bootcamp is scheduled to be held from August 6 to 9 at Kunsan National University. It is designed for 40 students who have completed (or are expected to complete) at least the 8th session of the SW long-term education program. The bootcamp will offer SW and AI education as well as a variety of hands-on activities, with the aim of strengthening practical digital skills and providing meaningful support for students in setting their career paths.
Participants will take part in a range of hands-on courses, including Python programming, game development using pygame, and Arduino-based IoT practice. On August 9, students will participate in an ideathon competition, where they will be encouraged to demonstrate creative and proactive problem-solving skills. In addition, visits to local SW and IT companies (and institutions) in the province are planned to deepen students' understanding of the regional industry and further develop their career planning abilities.
Outstanding students selected from the ideathon competition held during this bootcamp?up to 10 individuals?will be given the opportunity to visit leading overseas IT companies (or institutions) in the second half of the year. A city official stated, "Through the Digital Leaders Club program, we plan to continue providing diverse opportunities for students in North Jeolla Province to grow into talents who can lead future industries."
