Temporary Walkway to Be Installed After Closure of Existing Pedestrian Pathway
On June 2, the city of Cheonan in South Chungcheong Province announced that it will begin full-scale construction of the Cheonan Station Area Innovation District Urban Regeneration Project this month.
The city plans to invest 227.1 billion won in the project by 2027 to develop a knowledge industry center, apartment complexes, and a multi-purpose transfer parking lot on a 15,132-square-meter site in the Wacheon-dong area.
During the construction period, the existing pedestrian walkway will be closed to ensure the safety of citizens using Cheonan Station, and a temporary walkway will be installed.
A city official stated, "We will do our best to ensure the project proceeds smoothly in order to restore the functions of the old downtown and revitalize the local economy," adding, "Noise, vibration, and other inconveniences are expected during the construction process, so we ask for citizens' understanding and cooperation."
