Busan City Accepts Nominations for 'Social Contribution Award' Recipients... Recommendations Open Until July 18

Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Hyungjun) will be accepting nominations for candidates for the '17th Busan Metropolitan City Social Contribution Award' from June 2 until July 18.

This award aims to widely promote the value of a culture of sharing and enhance pride by discovering and recognizing individuals and organizations that have contributed to social contribution and the spread of a donation culture in the region. It has been awarded annually since 2009, and this year marks its 17th edition.

Eligible candidates are individuals, institutions, or organizations that have contributed to social contribution and the promotion of a donation culture in the Busan area as of May 31, 2025.

The award is divided into three categories: 'Sharing,' 'Serving,' and 'Giving.' In each category, one top award and one runner-up will be selected, for a total of six recipients. The 'Sharing' category recognizes achievements using material resources, the 'Serving' category acknowledges contributions through human resources, and the 'Giving' category is for cases of social contribution achieved through a combination of human and material resources.

Busan City plans to determine the awardees through a process that includes a document review and on-site investigation by the Social Contribution Working Committee, followed by a final deliberation by the Social Contribution Committee. Award recipients will be granted free use of public parking lots and the right to use the social contribution emblem. If a company or businessperson is selected, they will be honored and supported as an 'Outstanding Businessperson' for three years according to city ordinances.

This year's award ceremony will be held in September during the commemorative event for 'Busan Welfare Month 2025.'
