Samil PwC and Samil Future Foundation Successfully Complete Employee Volunteer 'Hands Up Project'

On June 2, Samil PwC and the Samil Future Foundation announced the successful completion of the employee-led social contribution initiative, the 'Hands Up Project.' Now in its third year, the 'Hands Up Project' is Samil PwC's social contribution program, held twice a year with the aim of practicing sustainable social responsibility.

This year's project, which took place from mid-April to the end of May, saw the participation of approximately 900 employees who engaged in various volunteer activities. The main activities included: ▲Tree planting at Noeul Park (May 10), ▲Packing basic necessities boxes for children at risk of malnutrition (May 14), ▲Creating educational kits for visually impaired children (May 22), and ▲Caring for abandoned dogs and cats (May 29-30).

In particular, a new program was introduced to create educational kits for visually impaired children, producing picture playbooks using braille and tactile features. Through this initiative, about 30 Korean language learning playbooks made by employees were donated to schools for the blind. Shin Youngcheol, an accountant who participated in the kit-making, said, "I didn't realize how delicate the process of making braille was, but thinking of the children made me focus even more," adding, "I hope the teaching aids I made will be helpful to the children."

The 'Walk Together' donation campaign, in which all employees participated, was also held for a month starting in mid-April. By reaching the goal of 200 million steps recorded through the walking donation platform 'Big Walk,' a donation of 50 million won will be made to support the self-reliance of children and adolescents in group homes nationwide.

Song Yeonju, Secretary General of the Samil Future Foundation, stated, "As employees voluntarily participated in volunteer activities, it became an opportunity for them to directly engage with various social issues and seek solutions," emphasizing, "Going forward, Samil PwC and the Samil Future Foundation will continue to actively seek ways to build a sustainable society."

Meanwhile, Samil PwC and the Samil Future Foundation are fulfilling their social responsibilities in various ways. Recently, they donated 150 million won to support recovery efforts in Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, and Ulsan, which were designated as special disaster areas due to wildfires. Samil PwC and the Samil Future Foundation also plan to carry out a variety of volunteer activities in the second half of the year.
