Paju City to Publicly Recruit Private Operator for Environmental Integration Center (Tentative Name)
Promoting Operation of a Hub and Private Expert Institution for Environmental Education and Carbon Neutrality Practices
On June 2, Paju City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it will publicly recruit a private operator for the professional and systematic management of the 'Paju City Environmental Integration Center (tentative name)', which is currently being established to enhance citizens' environmental awareness and promote the practice of carbon neutrality.
The Environmental Integration Center is the nation's first hub facility that integrates the existing functions of environmental education and the Carbon Neutrality Support Center into one. It is designed to enable policy operations focused on practical implementation based on citizen participation.
This private consignment recruitment targets nonprofit corporations or nonprofit private organizations with expertise and operational capabilities in the field of environmental education. The consignment period will be three years, from August 1, 2025, to July 31, 2028.
The scope of operations includes: customized environmental education by generation; development and operation of environmental education programs; training of environmental education professionals; support for carbon neutrality policies; promotion of energy transition and development and dissemination of transition models; citizen education and promotion for carbon neutrality practices; and management of facilities and personnel. A total of five full-time staff, including the center director, are required.
Further details can be found on the notice and announcement board of the Paju City Hall website. Those wishing to apply must visit the Paju City Climate Crisis Response Division in person on June 18 to submit their application. After a review of eligible candidates for private consignment, the final operating institution is expected to be selected in early July.
Paju City Mayor Kim Kyoungil stated, "The Environmental Integration Center is more than just an educational space; it is the nation's first integrated model that implements carbon neutrality practices and environmental policies in citizens' daily lives. We hope that specialized organizations in the environmental field will actively participate so that we can create a sustainable future together with our citizens."
