Six Months In, LG Uplus CEO Hong Beomsik Pursues Communication Management with In-house "Real-name SNS"

Exclusive Employee SNS "Trigo" Launched
CEO Hong Beomsik Also Active on Trigo Daily
"AI Utilization" Survey Conducted and Reflected in Training

Hong Beomsik, CEO of LG Uplus, who has now been in office for six months, has launched a real-time internal communication platform. This move is interpreted as an active effort to enhance communication and improve the organizational culture.

According to LG Uplus on June 1, the company launched and began using an employee-exclusive social networking service (SNS) called "Trigo" two weeks ago. Much like how people share spontaneous thoughts on platforms such as Facebook or Threads, employees use Trigo to exchange ideas that come to mind during work or to share information that could be helpful for their tasks. Unlike the workplace platform Blind, Trigo requires users to participate under their real names.

LG Uplus employees use this platform to share the latest IT knowledge, praise for colleagues, and touching stories, often accompanied by photos. The platform also features heated discussions among IT and telecommunications experts. CEO Hong also posts once a day, sharing articles he found impressive or his own thoughts, and leaves comments on posts made by employees. For example, when a developer shared a concise summary of artificial intelligence (AI) assistants and search technologies, CEO Hong commented, "Thank you for explaining difficult topics simply and focusing on the essentials." Recently, CEO Hong shared an interview article featuring an employee who impressed a customer and posted a message praising the employee. Following this, LG Uplus established the "Outstanding Customer Impression Award System," which allows employees who are personally commended by CEO Hong to have a meal with him.

Six Months In, LG Uplus CEO Hong Beomsik Pursues Communication Management with In-house "Real-name SNS" LG Uplus announced that President Hong Beomsik held the first town hall meeting at the headquarters in Yongsan-gu, Seoul on March 10, marking his 100th day in office. LG Uplus

LG Uplus is using Trigo not only as an internal communication tool but also as a channel for collecting and implementing employees' ideas. In practice, the in-house training team used Trigo to conduct a survey on employees' use of generative AI, and the results were reflected in the AI Transformation (AX) training program.

Trigo is a compound word formed from "Trigger" and "Go," and originated from an idea discussed at the town hall meeting held in March to mark CEO Hong's 100th day in office. At that time, CEO Hong emphasized, "For a company or an individual to grow, three things are important: motivation, capability, and a trigger," and added, "My role as CEO is to create triggers that unleash the potential of our employees."
