Exhibition of 26 National Treasures and Treasures Including Silla Gold Ornaments
Uiseong Jomunguk Museum in Gyeongbuk will hold the "National Treasure Touring Exhibition: A 180-Day Journey for Everyone" together with the National Daegu Museum from June 5 to August 10.
This exhibition is a regional touring event organized by the National Museum of Korea, under the theme "Golden Allure, Silla Ornaments," showcasing the sophistication and artistry of Silla gold craftsmanship. It is a meaningful occasion, as it marks the first time that national treasures and treasures are gathered in one place since the opening of Jomunguk Museum.
The exhibition will feature a total of 26 artifacts, including the national treasure "Gold Earrings from Bomundong Hapjang Tomb" and the treasure "Crown Ornament from Cheonmachong." In particular, the "Crown Ornament from Cheonmachong" recently drew attention after being reinterpreted in a modern way in singer Jennie's music video "ZEN."
This exhibition offers an opportunity to experience cultural heritage featured in middle and high school textbooks firsthand, and is expected to greatly benefit local students' history education. The museum will also operate educational experience booths and special lectures to help visitors better understand the exhibition.
Kim Jusu, Mayor of Uiseong, said, "It is very meaningful to display national treasures and treasures together," and added, "I hope this exhibition becomes an opportunity for all local residents to share in a thousand years of history and culture."
