Sinja Moon, Senior Female Leader and Chairman of Hallyu Culture Promotion Foundation in Daegu, Donates 100 Million Won to Help Neighbors

10 Million Won Donated to Hometown Yeongdeok

The Daegu Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Hongsik Shin) announced on May 30 that Sinja Moon, chairman of the Hallyu Culture Promotion Foundation, has joined as the 263rd member of the Daegu Honor Society.

Chairman Sinja Moon is a senior female leader who has devoted her life to the advancement of culture, the arts, and regional development. She has been active in the fields of education and culture, demonstrating a remarkable passion for expanding the social roles of women and promoting Hallyu culture. Even after retirement, she has continued to nurture young cultural talents in the region and participate in volunteer work, as well as engaging in various social activities and service efforts.

On this day, at an event held to commemorate her 88th birthday, Chairman Sinja Moon pledged a donation of 100 million won, contributed by her three sons, and joined as the 263rd member of the Daegu Honor Society. In addition, 10 million won of the donated funds will be used to support recovery efforts for residents affected by recent wildfires in Yeongdeok, her hometown, which suffered significant damage.

Chairman Sinja Moon stated, "I believe that wealth truly becomes one’s own only when it is shared. Just as I am able to begin something meaningful at the age of 88 in the name of giving, I hope that today’s event will inspire everyone to gain the courage and confidence to take on new challenges at any time."

Hongsik Shin, chairman of the Daegu Community Chest of Korea, congratulated her, saying, "I hope that Chairman Sinja Moon’s sharing, which embodies the love of family, the wisdom of life, and courage, will resonate with many people."
