A man in his 30s died after falling while rock climbing at Insu Peak in Bukhansan, and the police are currently investigating the incident.

According to the police and fire authorities on June 1, at around 4:00 p.m. on May 31, a man in his 30s, identified as Mr. A, fell approximately 30 meters while rock climbing at Insu Peak in Bukhansan, located in Deogyang-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi Province, resulting in his death.
According to the fire authorities, the accident occurred at around 4:06 p.m. that day. Upon receiving the report, the rescue team was immediately dispatched to the scene and began rescue operations. The rescue took about three hours to complete, and after the rescue was finished, the patient was handed over to the police.
Mr. A was reportedly unconscious at the time of the accident, had no respiration, and suffered multiple fractures throughout his body. He was immediately transported to the hospital but ultimately passed away.
A total of 17 personnel, including 15 firefighters and 2 police officers, were mobilized for the accident response, along with five pieces of rescue equipment.
The police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident and are closely analyzing whether safety equipment was used during the climb and the route taken.
