"Kim Moonsoo, Aligned with Rebellion Forces... Identity Contradiction"
Criticism: "Receiving Help from Those to Overcome Is Self-Contradictory"
Lee Jae Myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, responded to former President Park Geunhye's campaign support for candidate Kim Moonsoo and former President Yoon Sukyeol's public endorsement by saying, "I can't believe it," and "In effect, they're actually helping us." Regarding candidate Kim, he strongly urged a clear break from forces involved in rebellion, criticizing him for an "identity contradiction."
Lee Jae Myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, is campaigning in Seocho-gu and Gangnam-gu at the express bus terminal plaza in Seocho-gu, Seoul, on the 29th of last month.
On May 31, during an appearance on the YouTube channel "Jang Yoonseon's News Convenience Store," Lee reacted with surprise to the news that former President Park had appeared at Seomun Market in Daegu for the first time in eight years to support Kim Moonsoo, the People Power Party candidate. He joked, "Really? Why there?" and added, "Maybe she just went shopping." He then asked again, "Did former President Park clearly express her support for candidate Kim?" and, noting that he had not seen it himself, said, "I can't believe it," unable to hide his astonishment.
On that day, around 1 p.m., former President Park visited Seomun Market with People Power Party lawmakers Yoo Youngha, Kang Daesik, and Lee Inseon. This was her first public visit to Seomun Market since her impeachment from the presidency in 2017. Although Park did not make any political statements, it is widely interpreted that she appeared to support Kim Moonsoo, the People Power Party's presidential candidate.
Regarding former President Yoon Sukyeol delivering a message of support for Kim at a rally organized by Pastor Jeon Kwanghoon, Lee commented, "He seems to think he knows politics too well," and added, "For us, it's actually a good thing." In a message sent to the "Korea Restoration Movement Headquarters" rally held recently in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, former President Yoon stated, "Please rally your support for candidate Kim Moonsoo on June 3."
Lee said, "Objectively, it's hard to understand their actions," and evaluated, "In reality, their behavior is helping us." He continued, "If you think about why they're doing this, it seems like, just as he once said he 'learned economics through investigations,' he is under the illusion that he understands politics well," and added, "His experience of becoming president in such a short time seems to have become a source of pride."

Regarding candidate Kim Moonsoo, Lee intensified his criticism, saying, "He lacks a clear identity." He argued, "This election is about overcoming a state of rebellion, but candidate Kim seems to want to turn things back to how they were before," and claimed, "By not severing ties with former President Yoon, who was the ringleader of the rebellion, and by working together with far-right forces, he is contradicting himself." Lee added, "The public will also be left wondering, 'What is this?'," and repeatedly expressed his confidence by saying, "For us, this is actually a good thing."
