Science Experience Program for Elementary Students on June 14
Free Participation
Gimcheon City in North Gyeongsang Province will host a "Paper Airplane Acrobatics Performance" on June 14, 2025, at the seminar room on the second floor of the Gimcheon Green Future Science Museum, inviting the national paper airplane team "WePlay."
This event is a science experience program designed for elementary school students, providing them with the opportunity to directly observe and experience the scientific principles behind paper airplanes.
The performance will feature a variety of acrobatic acts, including the "Dancing Airplane," "Boomerang Airplane," "Floating Airplane," and "Target Hitting," accompanied by engaging explanations tailored to the children's level of understanding.
Participants will use dedicated paper airplane kits to make their own airplanes and take part in a "long-distance flying" activity. The program is structured to help them naturally acquire basic scientific knowledge about aerodynamics and flight structures through hands-on practice.
The performance will operate on a reservation basis, with a maximum capacity of 60 participants. Participation is free of charge, and applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis through the Gimcheon Green Future Science Museum website starting at 9 a.m. on June 4, 2025.
Gimcheon Mayor Bae Nakho said, "This is a program where children can have fun while nurturing their interest and curiosity in science," adding, "We will continue to introduce a variety of content so that all citizens can share the joy of science."
